I am an Actor, Singer-Songwriter, Instrumentalist, Scholar human. I am originally from Japan and spent the majority of my life in the lively city of Hong Kong. I hold a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts, an MA in Theatre from Villanova University, an MFA in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and I am currently a first year PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park. My research interests include gender performance and sexuality in Early Modern Japan and Asian Representation in American Musical Theatre.
I write my own music & am part of a band called Monday Night Airwaves, alongside Pax Ressler (they/them) and Rachel Camp (she/her). My art and scholarship can be summed up in this quote from Mary Zimmerman:
